The foundation of Idaho’s player development pathway.
Regional Training Centers (RTCs) provide consistent supplemental training opportunities for Idaho ODP players while serving as the primary environment for ongoing development, evaluation, and preparation throughout the season.
What is a Regional Training Center (RTC)?
Regional Training Centers (RTCs) are the primary training environments for Idaho ODP players following selection into State Pools.
Designed to provide consistent, high-quality development opportunities closer to home, RTCs allow players to train regularly within their region while remaining connected to Idaho’s statewide player pathway.
All RTC training sessions are included as part of the Idaho ODP program and are led by licensed ODP coaching staff.
RTCs focus on player development, team preparation, and ongoing evaluation throughout the season as players work toward regional events, championships, and additional opportunities within the US Youth Soccer ODP pathway.
How RTC Training Works
Idaho ODP utilizes a statewide Regional Training Center (RTC) model designed to increase access for players throughout Idaho while maintaining a unified player development pathway.
Following tryouts, selected players will identify a primary RTC location based on their home region and training preference.

North Idaho Regional Training Center (RTC):
Sessions located in Coeur d’ Alene and Post Falls, ID
East Idaho Regional Training Center (RTC):
Sessions will be located in Idaho Falls
Southwest Idaho Regional Training Center (RTC):
Sessions located at Simplot Sports Complex in Boise.
Throughout the season, Idaho ODP conducts two State Pool training opportunities each month.
One training session is held in Southwest Idaho (Boise) each month, while the second training session rotates between North Idaho and East Idaho on a bi-weekly basis. Be sure to check the calendar for trainings in your region.
This schedule allows players throughout the state to access high-quality training opportunities closer to home while remaining connected to Idaho’s statewide player development pathway.
Players from North and East Idaho are encouraged, but not required, to attend Boise training sessions when their region is not hosting that month’s rotating training event. These statewide sessions provide additional development opportunities and allow coaching staff to evaluate players from across Idaho in a shared training environment.
The RTC model balances player development, statewide evaluation, and accessibility while helping reduce travel demands for families whenever possible.

What to Expect at Training
Each Idaho ODP training session is designed to provide players with a challenging and development-focused environment that complements their club and school soccer experiences.
Training activities may include technical development, tactical learning, position-specific instruction, small-sided games, functional team activities, and match play. Goalkeepers will receive specialized goalkeeper training opportunities throughout the season.
Players will train alongside athletes from different clubs and communities across Idaho while working with licensed ODP coaches committed to supporting long-term player development.
Throughout the season, coaching staff evaluate player growth, performance, attitude, commitment, and readiness for future opportunities within the Idaho ODP pathway.
