Idaho Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors is seeking volunteers from within the IYSA membership to participate in the Board Recruitment, Governance & Elections Committee.
This committee supports the Board by strengthening governance practices, assisting with recruitment of future Board members, and ensuring the election process is conducted fairly and transparently.
Purpose of the Committee
The committee will focus on preparing for the upcoming Board election cycle leading up to the Annual General Meeting in July.
After the AGM, the committee will continue its work by supporting governance improvements and helping prepare for future Board recruitment and election cycles.
Committee Responsibilities
Members of the committee will:
- Support recruitment of qualified Board candidates
- Review candidate qualifications and governance needs
- Assist in ensuring a fair and transparent election process
- Recommend improvements to governance structure and practices
Committee Structure
The committee will include 5–7 total members:
3 Board Members
1 IYSA Staff Member
2–4 Volunteer Members from the IYSA community
Desired Experience
Individuals with experience in the following areas are encouraged to express interest:
- Nonprofit governance or prior board service
- Leadership recruitment or human resources
- Organizational development
- Election administration or governance processes
- Legal, compliance, or policy development
Participation Expectations
Committee members can expect:
- Several virtual meetings leading up to the July AGM
- Participation in discussions regarding Board recruitment and elections
- Continued involvement supporting governance development over the following year
The anticipated term of service is one year.
Eligibility Requirements
To maintain neutrality during the election process:
- Committee members may not run for Board positions in the upcoming election cycle
- Members may not campaign for candidates
- Participants must maintain confidentiality
- Conflicts of interest must be disclosed if applicable
