IDAHO OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
2025-2026 Cycle

WHAT IS ODP?
The US YOUTH SOCCER Olympic Development Program, or ODP as it is more commonly called, is a national identification and development program for high-level players. The program identifies and develops youth players throughout the country to represent their state association, region, and the United States in soccer competitions.
ODP teams are formed at the state association and regional levels, made up of the best players in various age groups. At the state association level, pools of players are identified in each eligible age group and brought together as a team to develop their skills through training and competition. From the state pools and subsequent teams, players are identified for regional and national pools and teams.
PROCESS
Players will be selected for State Pool Regional Training Centers (RTC) based on their respective tryouts and declaring training locations (info below).
Players selected from state pools may be named to the Idaho ODP Select State Team (16–18 players, or 12–14 for the youngest age group), along with a small group of alternates. The State Team will compete in all regional events, including the ODP Championships in January, where players are evaluated by Regional Staff for potential invitation to West Region Camp in July.
West Region Camp, which has a separate cost, brings together top players from across the West to compete for selection to the regional team or pool. From there, players may advance to Inter-Regional Camp with the chance to potentially represent United States Youth Soccer on select international trips as part of the National ODP Team.
Idaho ODP fees do not include costs for travel, or those making alternate rooming arrangements. Payment options/plans will be available.
- Tryouts: Attend the date/location that fits your schedule
- State Pools: If invited, declare the training pool that works best for you based on location.
- ODP State Select Team: Selected from the three regional pools across the state
ODP TRYOUTS
All players must register for tryouts using the GotSport portal link below. If you have questions or need more information, contact info@idahoyouthsoccer.org.
If you are unable to attend a tryout, please complete the registration process so we can accurately track your player’s profile. Then, email us to let us know you’re unable to attend but would still like to be considered. Be sure to include any relevant ODP history or other key details that support your player’s involvement.
While attendance is strongly encouraged, we are committed to doing our best to evaluate all interested players and provide opportunities wherever possible.
TRYOUT REGISTRATION PORTAL – Closes July 4th
Three tryout sessions will be held across Idaho. When you register, you’ll reserve a spot at the location that best fits your schedule and travel needs. At tryouts, you’ll be able to declare your preferred State Pool RTC based on your home location if you are selected.
