4 v 4 Courses
The U.S. Soccer 4v4 Grassroots coaching course is designed to support student coaches in guiding players within a U6-U8 participation environment.
7 v 7 Courses
The U.S. Soccer 7v7 Grassroots coaching course is designed to support student coaches in guiding players within a U9-U10 participation environment.
9 v 9 Courses
The U.S. Soccer 9v9 Grassroots coaching course is designed to support student coaches in guiding players within a U11-U12 participation environment.
11 v 11 Courses
The U.S. Soccer 11v11 Grassroots coaching course is designed to support student coaches in guiding players within a U13-U15 participation environment.
Coaching License Pathway Eligibility and Requirements (IYSA Hosted Courses):
- To Be Eligible for Grassroots Courses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11)
- Minimum age 16 years old
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module (Online)
- To Be Eligible for the D License Course
- Minimum age 16 years old
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module
- Earn One (1) Online Grassroots Course (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11)
- Earn Two (2) Different Grassroots In-Person Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11)
- Student coach must have access to a team (U7-U12) for the duration of the course

- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module
- Previously earned US Soccer E License
- (OR)
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module
- Previously earned US Soccer F License
- Earn Two (2) Different Grassroots In-Person Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11)
- To Be Eligible for the C License Course:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- National D Required for at least 6 months
- Student Coaches must have access to a team playing 11v11 (U13+) for the duration of the course
- A waiver of the C License may be considered based on previous professional or national team playing experience or foreign licensure
- To Be Eligible for the B License Course:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- National C Required for at least 12 months
- Have three (3) or more years of coaching experience (any level)
- Student Coaches must have access to a team playing 11v11 (U13+) for the duration of the course
- A waiver of the C License may be considered based on professional or national team playing experience or foreign licensure
