RTC (Regional Training Center)

What is an RTC?

RTC stands for Regional Training Center. These will be the respective training sites for regional pool selected players.

Regional Training Centers (RTCs) will serve as the consistent training hubs for State Pool teams following tryouts. These sessions are included in the ODP program cost and are not a separate process. RTCs ensure regular, accessible training across the state and also provide development opportunities for pre-ODP players (2014–2015). Full RTC calendars will be posted once tryouts conclude and staff are assigned.

RTC sessions will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Pocatello, and Boise, Idaho.

Regional Training Centers (RTCs) are a core part of the Idaho Olympic Development Program (ODP) and are staffed by certified ODP coaches. After tryouts, RTCs will become the consistent, statewide training locations for State Pool teams and are included in ODP program costs.

These sessions will look to be held once per month and are a key component of the ongoing player evaluation process used to form the Idaho ODP Select Teams.

Training focuses on individual development through an age-appropriate curriculum designed to enhance each player’s technical and tactical abilities. RTCs will serve as team-specific training, emphasizing targeted growth areas for players and overall goals of the state pool teams. Players also benefit from training with others across clubs and age groups, creating opportunities to learn from and be challenged by a wider range of peers than just club.

When is RTC Training?

RTC trainings begin after tryouts for selected pool players and serve as both evaluation and preparation for potential selection to the Idaho ODP Select team, which represents the state in all major events.

Full State Pool RTC training calendars will be posted here after tryouts conclude and coaching staffs are assigned.

District 1 sessions will be location in Coeur d’ Alene (Exact Site TBD).

District 2 sessions will be location in Pocatello at PVSC training facilities (Exact Site TBD).
