Roster Rules for National Championships
- Nationals continuity starts with State Cup level roster – teams must maintain a minimum 50% common players between their State Cup roster and their National Championship roster (Rule 221, pg. 5 & 6)
- Teams may club pass any youth player who is registered to their club, provided they meet the following criteria:
- If the team is U13, U14, or U15, the player must be either the age of the age group of competition or in either of the next 2 younger age groups.
- If the team is U16, U17, or U18/19, the player must be either the age of the age group of competition or of a younger age group, no younger than U14
- The club pass player must have been eliminated at the State Cup level in order to be placed on a National Championship roster (Rule 224, pg. 8)
- A club may add two (2) players from outside their club between the State Cup competition and the National Championship competition, provided the player was eliminated at the State Cup level of competition. (Rule 224, Pg. 8). Additional Rostered Players must be properly registered with US Youth Soccer.
Roster Rules for Presidents Cup
- Regionals continuity starts with state level roster, 9 must carry forward (Rule 301, Page 9)
- Nationals continuity starts with Regional level roster, 9 must carry forward (Rule 301, Page 9)
- If a State Association holds separate and distinct qualifying events to identify the team advancing to the regional level of the National Presidents Cup competitions, a player who was rostered to a team that competed in the semifinal or final matches at the state or regional level of a designated US Youth Soccer National Championship Series event (NCS) is not eligible to participate at the regional or national level of the National Presidents Cup competitions (Rule 302 Section 3).
- A limited number of additional players may be added to teams advancing to the National Presidents Cup Regional and National levels of competition. Additional Rostered Players must be properly registered with US Youth Soccer and the advancing team’s State Association at the beginning of the State qualifying event(Roster Freeze Deadline). Additional Rostered Players may be from any other member club in good standing and recognized as a member by the State Association.
Qualifying for Nationals (U13-U19)
- State Cup Champions will attend Nationals – USYS National Championships
- IYSA pays the entry fee for teams that advance to Nationals.
- US Youth Soccer National Championship Details
- Boys: July 13 – 23, 2026, in Salt Lake City/Provo, UT
- U16, U17, & U19s: July 13-20
- U13, U14, & U15s: July 16-23
- Girls: July 13 – 23, 2026, in Murfreesboro/Smyrna, TN
- U16, U17, & U19s: July 13-20
- U13, U14, & U15s: July 16-23
- Teams that drop after May 10th will be assessed a fine.
Moving On to Regionals
- U13 to U19 winners play at the 2026 Far West Presidents Cup
- IYSA pays the entry fee for teams that advance to Regionals.
- IYSA expects that teams that register for Presidents Cup will make the trip to the Far West Presidents Cup
