Just in case you haven’t heard, the ODP State Training this weekend is going to be a little different. IYSA is proud to welcome Jen Klein (Washington State University), Coe Michaelson (NNU), and Clifton Bush, who will be joining State Technical Directors Steve Adlard and Skyler Bell for a Saturday night seminar: College Recruiting 101. Each coach will address a topic/issue regarding college recruiting, and then there will be a Q&A session. The seminar will take place at the Boise Airport Holiday Inn and will start at 8pm and end at 9:30pm, and is free for all current Idaho ODP players.
On Sunday the State Training will be from 1pm-5pm at Brother’s Park in Caldwell, and will include an hour lunch break from 2:30-3:30pm. We will have some visitors at the training as well: Bell, Thomas and Klein will be evaluating players for Region IV, looking to find players to include in the Regional Pool, and for invitations to Regional Camp.
Additionally, Michaelson (NNU men), Mary Trigg (NNU women), Madison Collins (Boise State women), Kibwe Cuffie (Portland State women), Brian Smith (College of Idaho women), Thom Baker (College of Idaho men), Mark Platts (Eastern Oregon women), and others will be watching and evaluating players for their respective college programs.
Feel free to say “hello” to any of the coaches on the field, but remember that they cannot do much more than say “hi” because of NCAA rules. Don’t be offended if they can’t talk – and this goes for parents as well.
This training will also be one of the last chances to impress your coaches. Keep fighting for those regional camp spots!
We look forward to a fantastic weekend, and a great training on Sunday.
See you on the field,
Asst. Technical Director
