Regional Training Centers
Because Idaho Youth Soccer believes that soccer is a game for the players, and that it should be fun to play. When players are appropriately challenged in training, players get better, and the process of development is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game. It’s fun to get better and it’s fun to be good! It's also fun to train with other players regardless of club affiliation in a well-organized environment, with an experienced, educated, and diverse coaching staff from clubs across the state.
Let's have fun. Let's get better. Let's elevate together.
The Regional Training Center (RTC) program is a new offering from Idaho Youth Soccer. RTC will provide an opportunity for IYSA to directly impact player development across Idaho, and do it in a non-try-out format that is focused on the individual growth of the players involved. While it is not technically a "camp," it's easy to see the similarities between the RTC training system and a camp training system because they both share the primary goal of helping each individual player to develop skills and enjoy the game.
RTC operates under the ODP umbrella, but functions separately. The staff is made up almost entirely of coaches with ODP coaching experience, or are currently serving as an ODP head coach. While RTC staff may contact the appropriate ODP head coach regarding RTC players who show the potential to be successful in the elite ODP environment, absolutely no club recruiting will be tolerated.
RTC is for girls and boys born in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 (U11-U18) and who want to reach their potential and be the very best they can.
While there is NO TRYOUT, RTC are intended for competitive players and is not a recreational program.
See the Staff Assignments page.

We will have FOUR Regional Training Centers this year. While it's strongly encouraged to attend the RTC closest to home, RTC participants may attend any RTC. For example, if a player lived in Boise but traveled to Pocatello for a weekend, it may simply be easier to attend the training in Pocatello.
