Welcome to the NSCAA Club Standards Project. NSCAA has launched an evaluative process focusing on youth soccer organizations that is designed to raise the standards and expectations for coach and player development. Since the late 1990’s soccer has seen exponential growth in the number of registered players and the communities that it is reaching. Conservative estimates suggest there are now well over 10,000 organizations in USA operating youth soccer programs, including those affiliated with national organizations and through town recreation, YMCA and community centers.
The phenomenal growth in soccer participation is not presently being supported by a more sophisticated approach to player and coach development. Youth organizations participating in the NSCAA Club Standards Project will be evaluated on their current performance in Coaching Development, Player Development and Administration.
Participation in the Preliminary Assessment is free and all organizations will receive benefits provided by the project sponsors and partners. Organizations will receive a ‘participant logo’ to proudly display on their website and will also be recognized at NSCAA.com.
How this program is consistent with the NSCAA goals:
The NSCAA wants to be the primary course of information for coaching and player development.
The NSCAA wants to offer benefits and services to members we believe are most important.
Focus: Youth organizations will be evaluated on their current performance in:
1 - Coaching Development
2 - Player Development
3 - Administration
How It Works:
Preliminary Assessment - Youth organizations can now take the Preliminary Assessment by Clicking Here and completing 15 questions pertaining to the 3 primary areas (Coaching Development, Player Development & Administration) - the participant will then receive a 'preliminary - evaluation score' and will be contacted by NSCAA
Intermediate Assessment ($500) - An NSCAA consultant will be assigned to provide a thorough review of a youth organization's current performance in Player Development, Coaching and Administration. After compiling performance data and interviewing key decision makers in the organization, the Consultant will conduct a video conference with the Directors to share the evaluation and discuss recommendations for the future. The organization will also receive a report including an intermediate score
Advanced Assessment ($4,000) - The ultimate assessment level for any organization looking to emulate the very best practices in youth soccer. An NSCAA Consultant dedicates over 60 hours in data collection, in person interviews, onsite evaluation and report writing. The organization receives a 100 page report, a blueprint for all future short and long term decision making. The scores are official and the NSCAA designation can be shared publically. Note: Intermediate recipients receive a $500 credit towards the Advanced Assessment.
